Most things for me were done in reverse…my first set of decks were a pair of Pioneer CDJ100s until I decied to convert over to vinyl in 2002. From there I acquired approximately 8000 records (some inherited and many bought) over a 20 year period of which most are Deep House, San-Fran & Chicago House, New York House, Underground House, Tech House, Vocal House and older Defected releases.

I was able to navigate Sydney from 2002 to approximately 2010 playing Deep and Vocal style House…releases on like Naked Music, Silver Network, Environ, OM, Large, Deeply Rooted, Kif Records, Seasons, Lowdown, 2020 Vision, Freerange through to Soulfuric, Subliminal and Defected.

I enjoyed playing some of Sydney’s premier nightspots including Hugo’s Lounge, Lady Lux, Favela, Establishment, Civic Hotel, Paddington Inn, Hemesphere, Opera Bar and Le Panic (ex Sugareef).

Post 2010 saw a change in direction which led to setting up studio and creating (under the name ‘dekis’) instead of playing out. What however remains is an 8000 strong record collection and a permanent dj setup which won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
